Bath Care Workers Conquer Tough Mudder Challenge to Raise Over £2,000 for Residents

A determined team of nine care staff members from MHA Stratton House in Bath, along with their families, pushed through mud, water, and obstacles to raise more than £2,000 for their residents.

Amy Jacobs, Emily Millns, Cosmin Dranceanu, Aniz Damani, Fleur Preedy, Jake Grant, Louise Gascoigne, Milly Yiend, and Anne Head joined forces for the Tough Mudder event on Saturday, August 16, held at the Badminton Estate in South Gloucestershire. Fifteen participants in total faced either the 5-kilometre or the more demanding 15-kilometre course.

The fundraiser has so far collected £2,055, with more donations expected. Proceeds will support the care home’s amenities fund, focusing on enhancing the garden—a cherished retreat for residents—as well as funding trips and activities. MHA Stratton House provides residential care for 33 individuals.

Administration manager Harriet Law, along with chef John, attended the event to cheer on the participants. Harriet shared, “Having completed the challenge last year, I know just how tough it can be. The atmosphere was fantastic, and everyone showed incredible determination. We’re thrilled with the amount raised—far surpassing our initial goal.”

The team is already gearing up for next year’s challenge, with many eager to tackle the longer 15-kilometre course. Harriet added, “The funds will make a significant difference, helping to enhance the garden and support enriching experiences for our residents.”

On behalf of everyone at MHA Stratton House, Harriet extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, supporters, and donors who helped make this event a success.
