Bath faces significant travel disruption this Saturday, Valentine’s Day, as the city hosts a sold-out home rugby match alongside three sold-out Mumford & Sons concerts at The Forum. With both events attracting huge crowds on the same day, traffic and public transport are expected to be severely congested.
The rugby fixture, a high-stakes clash between Bath Rugby and Bristol Bears at The Rec, kicks off at 2:30 pm. Fans can arrive from 12:30 pm to enjoy the family-friendly fan village. Meanwhile, The Forum will be hosting the folk-rock band Mumford & Sons for three consecutive shows starting at 1 pm, 5:30 pm, and 9 pm respectively.
Given the close timing and proximity of the venues, visitors are advised to plan their journeys carefully to avoid delays. The Forum has issued a strong advisory on social media, urging attendees to allow extra travel time and warning that late arrivals will not be accommodated with ticket refunds or rescheduling. Doors for each concert open 45 to 60 minutes prior to showtime, and the venue has asked concert-goers to refrain from queuing too early outside.

Public transport services, especially trains stopping at nearby Bath Spa station, are anticipated to be packed, as both venues are within walking distance of the station. Additionally, roads leading into Bath, including the busy M4 corridor often used by fans traveling from Bristol for the rugby match, are likely to experience heavy congestion throughout the day. Local bus services, which commonly travel via Keynsham, may also face delays due to the influx of visitors.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to consider alternate travel options, prepare for crowded conditions, and allow plenty of time to navigate the bustling city centre. With two major events drawing enthusiastic crowds, Bath is set for an unforgettable but challenging day in terms of travel logistics.
