A tragic crash on the A303 near Charnage Hill, close to Mere, has resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and charges against a man from Bali. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, when a Citroen C5 and three motorcycles collided.
One of the motorcyclists, a man in his 60s, tragically died at the scene. Following an investigation, Wiltshire Police charged 66-year-old Nicholas Blackbeard of Cok Ngurah, Gambir, Bali, with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Blackbeard made his first court appearance at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 1. He was granted bail and is scheduled to appear at Salisbury Crown Court on July 30 for a plea hearing.
