Bad Bunny to Headline 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Bad Bunny, the acclaimed Puerto Rican rapper and singer-songwriter, will headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. The 31-year-old artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, announced the exciting news in a heartfelt statement celebrating this monumental career milestone. The event will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, during Super Bowl LX.

Expressing deep pride, Bad Bunny said, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL. (Go and tell grandma that we will be the HALFTIME SHOW of the Super Bowl).”

Jay-Z, the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist, praised Bad Bunny’s impact: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

The big reveal came during the NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers on September 28, 2025, accompanied by a teaser video showing Bad Bunny perched on a beach goalpost.

This announcement follows Bad Bunny’s recent decision to exclude U.S. dates from his upcoming tour due to concerns about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents potentially targeting his shows. He explained that his choice was not rooted in hate, but in genuine concern given the political climate affecting Latinos in the United States.

In an interview with i-D magazine, Bad Bunny elaborated, “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate—I’ve performed there many times, and all of the shows have been successful and magnificent. But specifically for a residency in Puerto Rico—we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S.—people from the U.S. could come here to see the show. But the issue was concerns over ICE presence outside concerts, and that was something we discussed very seriously.”

Bad Bunny will kick off his “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” World Tour in the Dominican Republic this November before touring Costa Rica and Mexico. The tour comprises 57 shows across Latin America, Australia, and Europe, including stops in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, England, and Belgium, finalizing on July 22, 2026.
