Baby Dies Following Admission to Salisbury District Hospital with Serious Injuries; Man Charged with Murder

A heartbreaking case unfolded in Salisbury as a four-week-old baby boy tragically passed away after being admitted to Salisbury District Hospital with serious injuries. The child was admitted on September 1, 2022, but despite medical efforts, he died on September 9.

Jamie Fulford, 26, from Tournament Road, appeared before Salisbury Magistrates Court on Friday, May 8, charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. Fulford has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear next at Winchester Crown Court on May 12.

The baby’s mother, 22-year-old Sophie Egerton, also of Tournament Road, faces charges of causing or allowing the death or harm of a child. She appeared in court the same day and has been released on unconditional bail, with her next hearing set for June 5 at Winchester Crown Court.
