Yesterday evening, a one-year-old baby boy sustained life-threatening injuries in a head-on crash on the A303 near the Bulford junction, east of Amesbury around 5.30pm. The road remained closed into Saturday morning.
Wiltshire Police reported that a grey Skoda Karoq entered the A303 eastbound at the Amesbury Road junction and collided with a white Peugeot 208 traveling in the same direction. The collision caused the Peugeot to spin onto the westbound carriageway through the barriers for the Allington track, resulting in a head-on collision with a silver Volvo V70 traveling in the opposite direction.
The Peugeot driver, a woman in her 20s, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The one-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries, while another passenger, a five-year-old boy, has injuries not believed to be life-changing. The Volvo driver, a man in his 70s, suffered minor injuries. Both directions of the road were completely closed for recovery.
