Attempted Murder Arrest Following Yeovil Drive-By Shooting

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a firearm was discharged from a car at the Lufton Trading Estate in Yeovil. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 1, prompting a significant emergency response.

Alongside the man, a woman in her 20s was also taken into custody on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both arrests were made on Friday, October 3, and the individuals currently remain in police custody.

Police launched extensive searches involving armed officers and the National Police Air Service helicopter. A red 4x4 linked to the incident was seized earlier this week. Investigators have been examining CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door inquiries in the area.

Inspector Roseanna Green commented, “These arrests represent important progress in our ongoing investigation. We have no evidence of any wider threat to the public. Our officers continue to work diligently to identify all responsible parties. Increased patrols are being maintained throughout the weekend, and the community is encouraged to reach out with any concerns.”
