A vehicle crashed off the A361 East Compton Road in Shepton Mallet and was subsequently set on fire in an incident now being treated as suspected arson.
The silver Hyundai Accent left the road and ended up in a ditch at around 10.30am on Tuesday, 18 August.
Later that day, between 1pm and 1.30pm, two men arrived at the scene in a black SUV-type vehicle. According to reports, they removed items from the crashed car before setting it alight and leaving the area.

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed the details and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw anything suspicious around 1pm to come forward. They are also interested in any dashcam footage that may provide further information.
