Armed police were dispatched to a residential street in Taunton on Wednesday morning, September 24, responding to reports of an aggressive individual possibly armed at a property on East Reach. At around 10 a.m., officers received information that a vulnerable person was acting aggressively, raising concerns over potential access to a weapon.
In response, armed officers quickly arrived at the scene, and residents inside the building were advised to evacuate for their safety. By approximately 10:45 a.m., a man in his 30s was taken into custody on suspicion of affray. Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries sustained during the incident.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police stated: “Police arrested a man on suspicion of affray following reports of aggressive behavior at a residential property on East Reach. Due to concerns the individual might have been armed, armed officers attended the scene, and other residents were advised to leave. The man remains in custody, and no injuries have been reported.”
