Argos is bringing back the excitement of midnight launches with a special event for the release of EA FC26. Among a select few locations nationwide, the Yeovil Argos store in Somerset will open its doors at midnight, giving fans the chance to be among the first to purchase a physical copy of the game right as it officially launches.
Once a staple on the British high street, midnight launches have declined with the rise of digital downloads. However, recent trends suggest a resurgence in demand for these communal gaming events. Google Trends data revealed a significant spike in searches for “midnight launch” on March 30th, coinciding with the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement—the highest interest seen since 2020. Gamers are eager to relive the thrill of queuing late into the night and sharing the launch experience together.

Customers don’t need to have pre-ordered EA FC26 to attend the midnight launch; all sales will operate on a walk-in basis. The store will be open for half an hour, during which visitors can also shop from Argos’s extensive product range.
For those who can’t make it to the event, pre-orders placed online will be delivered to homes on Friday, 26th September. Please note that click & collect is not available for pre-orders.
