While visiting the historic city of Bath, American travelers Amber Kacherian and her friends Blake and Jared decided to try a traditional full English breakfast for the very first time, prompted by recommendations from locals. Amber documented their culinary adventure in a lively Instagram video, sharing their honest, unfiltered reactions with her 424,000 followers.
Seated in a cozy café, Amber excitedly introduced their plan: “So today, we are here in lovely Bath, England, and we are going to try a proper English breakfast.” The meal arrived, presenting a variety of components typical of the classic British fry-up.
The trio’s first challenge was the black pudding. Blake bravely took the initial bite but immediately grimaced, exclaiming “What the h*ll?” and declared that black pudding was not for him, setting it aside uneaten.

Amber began with pancakes drenched in syrup, noting that the syrup tasted sweeter than what she was accustomed to back home in the United States. She also showcased assorted toppings like honey, peanut butter, jam, and Marmite, sparking some online debate as many pointed out that these are commonly used on toast rather than pancakes.
Determined to give Marmite a try despite the rocky start with black pudding, Blake spread it thickly on toast. His reaction was a grimace and a comment describing the taste as “sadness.” Jared, also tasting Marmite, described its aroma as “burnt yeast” and called the flavor “strong,” both sharing Blake’s less-than-favorable response.
Amber highlighted that no English breakfast is complete without beans on toast, and this proved to be a crowd-pleaser. She enjoyed the comforting combination, savoring each bite.
The group was momentarily puzzled by the bacon, mistaking it for ham due to its different texture and appearance. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a hit. Amber also sampled British-style yoghurt, which she found to be tangier and creamier—more like sour cream—than the American variety, but she appreciated the difference.
