Alterations Underway for Robbie Williams' Bath Concert

Preparations for Robbie Williams’ highly anticipated concert at Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent this summer are in full swing. This includes the temporary removal of sections of the historic site’s listed railings.

Organisers Senbla have secured planning permission from Bath & North East Somerset Council to temporarily dismantle two panels of railings on the Crescent Lawn to facilitate the construction of the stage for the show.

A temporary bridge will be installed at the site of the removed railings to provide access for equipment and crew. In addition to the lawn railings, bollards at the junction of Marlborough Buildings and Royal Crescent — also part of the listed streetscape — will be temporarily removed to facilitate the build.

The removal is set to commence in the first week of June and will extend for no more than three weeks. All alterations are temporary, with plans for full reinstatement of the railings and bollards once the event concludes. Officials emphasize that no permanent changes will be made to the appearance or structure of the Grade I-listed site.

A similar operation was successfully carried out in 2022 when Michael Bublé performed at the same location.

Robbie Williams is scheduled to perform on Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14. Tickets are available for purchase.

The council officers have approved the plans, stating that the planned intervention is acceptable and will preserve the historical integrity of the Royal Crescent, one of Bath’s most recognizable landmarks.
