Air Ambulance Touches Down at Taunton’s French Weir Park Following Medical Emergency

An air ambulance landed at French Weir Park in Taunton today after a medical emergency prompted a rapid response from emergency services.

At approximately 11:04 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, emergency crews received a call regarding an urgent medical incident in the park. The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) dispatched two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, and an operations team to the scene.

Avon and Somerset Police also attended to support the ambulance service, temporarily cordoning off a section of the park to facilitate the emergency response. Two land ambulances were present alongside the air ambulance to provide comprehensive medical support.

A representative from SWASFT confirmed the timeline and resources deployed, while Avon and Somerset police clarified that the incident was medical in nature, with officers assisting the ambulance crews.

The police cordon was lifted by 2 p.m., and no further details about the incident have been released at this time.
