Adam Peaty’s Mum Chooses to Skip Wedding to Preserve Peace

Caroline Peaty, mother of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, has made a heartfelt decision to stay away from her son’s wedding amid ongoing family tensions. Originally uninvited due to a significant family dispute, Caroline has confirmed she will not attend the ceremony to prevent overshadowing the special day.

Adam Peaty is set to marry Holly Ramsay at Bath Abbey on Saturday, December 27. While the Ramsay family arrived in Bath on December 26, the Peaty family’s presence will be limited to Adam’s sister, Bethany, as Caroline chooses to remain at home.

The decision followed a conversation with her husband, Mark, who advised that attending the wedding would likely be too distressing and could spoil the event. A family insider revealed, “She will not be there because it would be too sad and she doesn’t want to spoil his big day.”

The family rift reportedly began last year after a clash between Caroline and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, Holly’s father. Conflict escalated when Caroline expressed frustration over some family members being excluded from a party filmed for a docuseries and further deepened when she was left out of Holly’s hen party at Soho Farmhouse.

Things worsened after Adam’s stag do, when he received increasingly abusive and threatening messages. Concerns about his safety led to a police presence greeting Adam at Manchester Airport, and his brother James was arrested in connection with the incident.

Despite the continuing strain, Caroline recently reached out on social media with a message of reconciliation on her 60th birthday, which went unacknowledged publicly by Adam. She expressed her unconditional love, saying, “No matter what happens in the future, please know I love you… you can come home and talk to me at any point.” She added, “I hope your marriage is a good one… I want all this to end.”
