Following a serious collision that occurred on the A303, diversions have been put in place, with the road closure extending for over 13 hours. The incident, which took place on the Mere Bypass, prompted the presence of emergency services, including Wiltshire Police.
As of more than 13 hours after the crash, the A303 westbound remains closed between the B3081 (Bourton) and the A350 (West Knoyle) due to the severity of the collision. The westbound carriageway was finally reopened at 1.15pm.
The authorities are currently conducting investigation work at the site of the crash, which occurred between the B3092 Castle Street and the B3095 late on Monday, April 14. Overnight, the road was closed in both directions. Details regarding the number of vehicles involved and the extent of injuries sustained remain unclear.
