£25 Heated Pod Cuts Drying Time and Damp Odours – Now Half Price at Argos for Black Friday

When winter hits and temperatures drop, drying laundry becomes a sluggish and frustrating task. You’re left choosing between damp-smelling clothes or cranking up the tumble dryer and watching your electricity bill soar. That was my experience until I discovered the Beldray Heated Pod Drying System last year—and it’s been a total game-changer.

Initially skeptical of a small heated pod, I found it significantly slashed drying times, eliminated damp odours, and helped keep my energy costs down. It’s become one of those handy gadgets I rely on every cold season.

Now just £25 at Argos—half the usual £50 price as part of their Black Friday sale—it’s an affordable upgrade that’s worth every penny. While available on Amazon and directly from Beldray, Argos currently offers the best discount I’ve seen.

Here’s why this compact drying system has revolutionised my winter laundry routine:

The kit includes a heating unit, a zip-up fabric cover, and a small metal stand to elevate the heater off the floor. Using it couldn’t be easier.

I hang my clothes on a standard three-tier airer, position the heater underneath, set the timer for two to three hours, and zip the cover over the whole setup to trap the warm air.

Note: the airer isn’t included and needs to fit inside the cover, so bulky winged styles won’t work. A simple collapsible airer, like those available from Amazon, is ideal.

The heater is moderately noisy, so I usually run it in the living room if I’m working elsewhere, or in the bedroom while watching TV.

When the timer finishes, my clothes are thoroughly dry—provided they’re not packed too tightly, as proper airflow is key.

Bulky items like bed sheets still require the tumble dryer, but for everyday laundry, this pod is brilliant.

If you need larger capacity, Dunelm sells a four-tier heated airer for £99 (down from £165) with extra drying bars—perfect for bedding and towels.

Besides drying clothes faster and more efficiently, the pod also warms the room it’s in, often allowing me to turn the heating down when it’s running. This unexpected bonus helps reduce winter energy bills even further.

The only downsides are its bulkiness and the need for dedicated storage space, but that’s a small trade-off for dry, fresh laundry during winter.

Winter washing used to be a chore I dreaded, but this heated pod has become my seasonal must-have. It’s inexpensive to run, simple to use, surprisingly effective, and now available at half price.

After a year of use, I can say confidently it’s one of the best small home purchases I’ve made—completely changing how I tackle laundry in the colder months. Don’t miss out on the 50% off deal at Argos—stock won’t last.
